Project Management a Hot Topic

“Thought the topic was well done. Would have enjoyed another half hour of it. Not normally the case though that I would like a longer presentation.”

“The #1 most important reason to attend these events: being in the same room with 70 of my industry peers. This was another great turnout. Keep it up!”

 The March chapter meeting –

Principles of Project Management

was another success, drawing over 70 participants. The educational program, co-sponsored by CORENET, was presented by Skip Greeby, President of the Greeby Companies – a consulting firm providing owner rep services in design and construction. With content sufficient for a 3-day seminar, Skip had to pare down his presentation substantially to fit it to the 90 minute format. He focused on two primary topics: the role & type of construction manager and procurement of construction services. A major message of the presentation was that the traditional Design-Bid-Build approach to project delivery has significant shortcomings and an approach which engages the contractor early in the design process – while still competitively bidding the services – can save both time and money.

Special thanks go to Eric Friedman of CORENET for coordinating the program. The Chapter will look for other opportunities to partner with CORENET on future programs.
