University Hospital Facilities and Operations Presentation & Tour
About the event:
Join us for an in-depth overview of University Hospital in Newark, including a presentation and comprehensive tour of the operational infrastructure of this 550-bed, Level 1 Trauma facility. Learn about the hospital’s operational “crown jewel”, which comprises four Caterpillar engines that can support the hospital for seven consecutive days without refueling during a catastrophic power loss. The facilities team designed the systems to provide redundancy and as little interruption to patient care as possible.
Additionally, we will see the master plan and conceptual design to expand UH, becoming one of New Jersey’s largest acute care hospitals.
University Hospital is a regional resource for specialized services and critical care and is an independent, standalone medical center owned by the State of New Jersey. Principally it is a teaching hospital is ranked among the best healthcare facilities in Northern New Jersey.
